Claudia Moran Injured in Truck Accident on Loop 820 in Fort Worth, TX
Fort Worth, TX — June 24, 2022, 41-year-old Claudia Moran was injured in a crash with two tractor-trailers on Loop 820 in Fort Worth.
According to reports the incident happened around 11:35 a.m. on Northeast Loop 820 near Mark IV Parkway. Preliminary investigation suggests Moran was driving a Kia Optima east in lane 2 of the highway as a Peterbilt semi-truck was traveling one lane to the left of her. To the right, a Mack truck with an attached trailer was also headed east.
Reports say Moran tried to change lanes when unsafe, veering left and cutting off the Peterbilt. The Kia's left-rear quarter made contact with the truck's front-right. The car then spun out and hit the Mack truck's trailer, becoming wedged underneath.
Moran suffered serious injuries in the crash. Neither truck driver was injured.

Commentary on Claudia Moran Accident in Fort Worth
Reports suggest this accident was triggered when the victim tried to change lanes at an unsafe time. Maybe that's really all there is to this, but at the same time I've seen enough mistaken reports to take that with a grain or two of salt until someone has a closer look.
What might appear like driver carelessness on the surface could also turn out to be an issue of brake or steering failure, a sudden course change because the car lost traction on a wet road, or even the result of the driver having a sudden medical emergency at the wheel. That's just a few of many possibilities that deserve careful attention before anyone can say they know what happened.
A second, more careful look might just turn up the same thing police concluded in preliminary reports, but finding clear evidence that tells the whole story is always best. If police already have their minds made up and the victim disagrees with their conclusions, she may need an independent accident reconstructionist to take another look.
