One Killed, One Injured in Crossover Accident on AR-196 in Miller County

Miller County, AR — July 7, 2022, one person was killed and another was injured in a crash between a car and a pickup on State Highway 196 in Miller County.

According to reports the incident happened around 11:00 p.m. on Highway 196, between Texarkana and Genoa. Preliminary investigation suggests a Honda car was traveling east on the highway as a Dodge pickup was westbound nearby.

For reasons not yet known the Honda left the road, turned counter-clockwise, and crossed over the yellow line into the Dodge's path. The pickup's front end crashed into the Honda's passenger side, splitting the car in half.

The Honda driver was ejected in the collision and suffered fatal injuries. A 73-year-old man was also injured in the wreck, but it's unclear which vehicle he was in.

No further information is available at this time.
