Commentary on Dump Truck Accident on Kompass in Falmouth
It's not really clear what exactly happened here, but the incident happening on a job site can make things rather complex. Obviously, if this was just some civilian that somehow got hurt due to negligent construction workers, there may not be any significant barriers between the victim and the help they need. Conversely, if this was a worker hurt due to their own or a co-worker's negligence, then the only recourse may be through workers' comp. That said, there could be possible exceptions to consider.

Even on work sites, workers may have rights beyond the confines of workers' comp in some situations. For example, if multiple companies are on site, then a mistake from workers of one company hurting workers from another company could result in similar consequences to what would occur with a non-worker victim. Alternatively, if this is some unusual, unforeseeable incident resulting from a defective part, then obviously there would need to be action against the manufacturer to address that issue.
These details aren't the sort of thing authorities typically look into. That's why there may need to be more thorough investigations into what happened here and what options are available to those involved.
