Commentary on Jeri Banks Accident in Paragould
People may read reports about this accident and that, while tragic, it appears to be due to an unfortunate choice made by the victim. It could be that driver error is the root of the accident as investigators believe, but I've also learned over the years to take preliminary reports with a grain or two of salt. They're not always the gospel truth they're thought to be.
Before anyone tries to say definitively what caused this wreck it's important to consider any other potential factors. For instance, what if the pickup veered out of its lane not because the driver wanted to pass other vehicles, but because its brakes failed and she was trying to avoid them? What if it just lost traction on water or debris in the road? Maybe the pickup blew a tire?
I'm aware that the simplest explanation for something is often the correct one, but that doesn't mean other possibilities can safely be ignored. Finding the facts that tell the whole story is crucial, both to learn what happened and to hold the right parties accountable. Will police be thorough enough to bring the victim's loved ones much-needed answers, or would an independent investigation do a better job of that?
