Commentary on Car Accident on Woodlawn Blvd in Denison

To be clear, I don't write this blog to judge or criticize people suspected of drunk driving. I write about crashes like this to discuss their implications and hopefully make people aware of certain lesser-known avenues to get the help they need after being hurt.

For example, when police say alcohol contributed to a crash it's important to find out where the drinks came from. Why? Because people often get hurt in wrecks like this after someone leaves a bar that illegally over-served them and made them a danger to themselves and others.

Texas dram shop law says that licensed alcohol vendors may be liable for their role in such accidents if they knowingly provided more alcohol to obviously intoxicated customers. This ensures that reckless businesses face consequences for over-service while also letting injured victims get the help they need to resume their lives.

That's why potential dram shop violations are always important to look into after crashes like this. Will authorities properly investigate that possibility, or would the victim's interests be better served by an independent investigation?
