Commentary on Joey Schweinfurth Truck Accident in Kansas City

Tire blowouts are often just unavoidable tragedies, considering it is often the result of something in the road puncturing a tire. However, things aren't always so simple. For example, another common factor is a lack of maintenance. Getting a hold of this company's records could show that the company neglected to replace the tires in a timely manner, leading to a deadly blowout. But even then, there could be other complex factors to consider.

Another possibility authorities rarely have the tools or training to handle is manufacturing defects. A poorly designed or constructed tire can fail completely beyond the knowledge or control of a driver or vehicle owner. Not only could that mean a responsible manufacturer but it could even mean countless others are in danger if the problem isn't brought to public attention. This can require particular tools and training to look into, which is yet another reason why independent investigations are often the more prudent choice in these situations. Are steps being taken to get clear answers for the victims and families involved here?
