Commentary on Tractor-trailer Accident on I-95 in Brevard County
It's at least encouraging to see injuries here were minor. I certainly hope that's true, but it's always important to take things seriously regardless. After all, early reports don't always have all the facts.

Not long ago, for example, I handled a case in which a man initially had "minor" injuries. Days after the crash, though, he could barely move due to excruciating pain in his back. Further tests showed the crash actually ruptured a disk in his spine, and he needed to have surgery and months of rehab to get back on his feet.
What reports initially said was no big deal turned out to be a nearly life-changing injury and a months-long battle with the insurance company to get them to take responsibility. While we ultimately resolved that situation and got the man the help he needed, it was an arduous process no one should have to face alone. So while I sincerely hope nothing like that happened here, it's still important to take precautions as soon as possible.
