Commentary on Hilda Vazquez Esquivel, Julianna Morales Car Accident in Devine

A wrong-way collision is always concerning, and it raises some familiar red flags. To be blunt, most of the time, this sort of thing is the result of drunk driving. Not only that, but investigations usually show that driver was illegally over-served by some local establishment, and those establishments can be held liable for their role in the crash under dram shop law. But jumping to conclusions isn't going to get people the help they need. For all we know, this involved medical conditions, missing signage, road defects, or perhaps just simple confusion. Put simply, it's best that independent investigators look into things and let the evidence speak for itself. Getting people the help they need means ensuring no possibility, however unlikely, goes overlooked.
