Roberto Cruz Injured in Truck Accident on FM 86 in Caldwell County, TX

Caldwell County, TX — June 15, 2022, 22-year-old Roberto Cruz was injured in a crash with a tractor-trailer on FM 86 in Caldwell County.

According to reports the incident happened around 3:55 p.m. on FM 86 at FM 1322. Preliminary investigation suggests a Peterbilt semi-truck was towing a trailer north on FM 86 toward FM 1322 as Cruz was driving a Nissan Sentra west on FM 1322 toward the same intersection.

Reports say Cruz disregarded the stop sign at the crossing and entered it without stopping. The westbound car hit the northbound truck, which was already passing through the intersection with the right-of-way. The impact ruptured the truck's right fuel tank and the car was briefly stuck underneath the trailer before coming loose again.

Cruz suffered serious injuries and was taken to a hospital. The truck driver was unhurt.
