Roosevelt Long Jr. Killed in Rollover Accident off Gulf Freeway in Houston, TX

Houston, TX — June 18, 2022, 24-year-old Roosevelt Long Jr. was killed in a single-vehicle accident off the Gulf Freeway in Houston.

Authorities say the incident happened around 2:15 a.m. on the 14000 block of the Gulf Freeway service road. Preliminary investigation suggests Long was driving a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck north at alleged high speeds in the area when he lost control. The truck hit a curb and overturned in the grassy median.

Long was ejected in the rollover and became pinned beneath the truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witness statements and investigation suggest the Silverado may have had a flat tire.
