Woman Injured in Tractor-Trailer Accident on I-71 in Medina County, OH
Medina County, OH -- June 22, 2022, one person was injured following an accident where a tractor-trailer hit them on I-71.
Investigators reported that the collision took place at around 8:00 a.m. in the area of I-71 and State Route 3.
It appears that a woman was walking on northbound lanes for unknown reasons. Her vehicle was found parked nearby. While walking, a tractor-trailer hit the woman.
EMS transported the woman to a hospital with reportedly serious injuries. No further information about the accident is available at this time.

While a pedestrian certainly shouldn't be on the interstate if they can help it, there's really not enough information in these reports to draw any conclusions. Maybe this was someone just being reckless, but it's possible the victim was clearly visible and avoidable. Even if someone is where they shouldn't be, drivers have a responsibility to do so if reasonably possible. Was this simply unavoidable, or is there more to this story authorities have yet to say?
