Commentary on Car Accident at I-45 & Botham Jean in Dallas
Any allegations of alcohol are worth taking seriously, though folks should keep in mind these are preliminary reports. Further investigations could reveal any number of other factors, and maybe alcohol wasn't even involved. But considering children were hurt here, it's important to understand what it can mean for a family when alcohol is the cause of a crash.

While folks may think it's all just about charging drunk drivers, that's rarely the whole story. It's also important to consider where the alcohol came from. This is due to dram shop law, which says that an alcohol provider who over-serves an obviously intoxicated person can be liable for damages resulting from that intoxication. Bars, liquor stores, restaurants, gas stations--all of these businesses have rules to follow, and failing to do so means people get hurt.
That's why it's crucial to ensure crashes like this get thorough attention from professional investigators. Getting people the help they need means knowing they have all the facts.
