Commentary on Big Rig Hit-and-run Accident on I-5 in Kings County
There's certainly a lot going on here, and there were likely some injuries resulting from the initial crash that warrant attention. After all, the law is nuanced enough to separate between different accidents that are all part of the same chain of events. But the fact a driver left this scene is also incredibly important, and taking steps to see them answer for their role in these events is crucial.

One important step is simply to keep these reports in the public eye as much as possible. I had a case a while back where a couple that saw a hit-and-run and wrote down the truck's information called us and helped us identify the truck driver. Somehow, police lost their contact info and never followed up, so who knows if the driver ever would have been caught had those folks not seen our reports. Hopefully similar efforts to keep these details in the public eye are equally productive in getting people the help they need.
