Commentary on Brian Thomas Decker Car Accident in Denton

It obviously raises red flags whenever police bring up alcohol. I certainly wouldn't suggest overlooking that, considering complex possible avenues like dram shop law where a bar can be liable for the injuries if they illegally over-served the driver. At the same time, though, it's important to take preliminary reports like this with a grain of salt. Authorities often overlook less common factors like mechanical issues, medical conditions, road hazards, tire blowouts, missing signage or lighting, etc. If further investigations showed that alcohol had nothing to do with this crash and police overlooked something important, it certainly wouldn't be the first time. Are the proper steps being taken here to ensure nothing slips through the cracks?
