Commentary on Truck Accident on TX-249 in Navasota
So far it's not really clear what happened here or why. Hopefully investigators can explain things better soon, but in the meantime I discourage jumping to conclusions. There are still far too many variables to consider to make sure the full story is learned.
That's why as more dots are connected, making premature assumptions about the picture they'll form isn't a good idea. I've seen too many folks rush to judgment after reading just a few sentences in the news only to completely change their minds after more information came to light. The same could happen here, though a "by the book" police investigation may not fully explain things either.
After a major accident--particularly one involving a commercial truck--I generally suggest an independent investigation to better ensure the whole truth is found. Whatever is learned, those affected deserve to know that every effort was made to bring them all the available answers. Any other actions beyond simply learning the truth would depend on what that truth turns out to be.
