Atanafu Gemeda Killed in Hit-and-run Accident in Houston, TX

Houston, TX -- June 8, 2022, Atanafu Gemeda was fatally injured due to an accident where a vehicle hit Gemeda, then left the scene.

Investigators reported that the crash took place at around 10:45 p.m. along Bellaire Boulevard off Renwick Drive.

According to officials, Atanafu Gemeda was walking when a vehicle somehow hit Gemeda. That vehicle then left the scene.

Gemeda sustained injuries which reportedly proved fatal the day following the crash. Authorities have yet to identify the driver involved. Investigations are ongoing.

It's just infuriating to see someone leave the scene while someone is left behind to die. Obviously, finding that person and bringing them to answer for their actions needs to be a priority. Were they drunk? Did they have drugs or warrants? Getting answers means finding the driver, and the best chance of that happening is keeping these details in the public as much as possible.
