Desiree Moyer, 3 Injured in Alleged Drunk Driver Accident in Upshur County, TX
Upshur County, TX -- May 27, 2022, Desiree Moyer and three others were injured due to an accident allegedly involving a drunk driver.
Investigators reported that the crash took place at around 7:05 p.m. along US Highway 259 at Highway 154.
According to officials, 32-year-old Desiree Mary Moyer was driving a Kia SUV along southbound US 259. At Highway 154, reports say that Moyer attempted to turn left. Doing so, a northbound vehicle reportedly may have disregarded a red light, crashing into Moyer's vehicle.
Due to the crash, Moyer and three children in the vehicle had incapacitating injuries. The other driver's injuries were not made clear. That driver was allegedly under the influence of alcohol at the time, and authorities recommended there be charges for intoxication assault. It's unclear who had the right-of-way at the time of the accident.

Filing charges for intoxication assault means authorities are confident they can prove a driver's intoxication was the proximate cause of someone's injuries.
