It's not my place to say if these allegations are true or not, but it's important for folks to understand why these allegations, even if proven true, might only tell a part of the whole story. This is due to the fact that alcohol providers can also be responsible for contributing to intoxicated driving accidents, which is allegedly what led to the victim's injuries here. Is that something authorities have looked into here?

Essentially, Texas dram shop law says that an alcohol provider who over-serves an obviously intoxicated person can be liable for damages resulting from that intoxication. That could be a bar, liquor store, restaurant, or even a gas station. When they break the rules and people get hurt, why should they get to continue business as usual as though they did nothing wrong?

Dram shop is a vital tool that can get people the help they need while also ensuring all parties are held appropriately accountable. Like I said, I can't speak to the veracity of the allegations these sources have put forth. All I can say is I hope that the necessary steps are being taken to consider all the possible factors surrounding the accident so those involved know they're getting the whole story and every opportunity to get the help they deserve.
