Commentary on Firetruck Accident on Main Street in East Orange

It's not entirely clear what happened here, but a crash sending a firetruck into the side of a building is certainly going to raise eyebrows. The main concern I have with multi-vehicle wrecks like this is that they often become chaotic simply due to the companies involved.

East Orange, NJ Firetruck Accident Injures 5 on Main Street

With a crash like this, there will likely be three insurance companies, the owner of the dump truck, and the city or county the firefighters work for. With all of those entities all trying to put responsibility on each other, it's easy to see why the victims and families can get drowned out in all the noise. Making their voices heard, then, requires extensive steps to gather evidence. Whatever blame-shifting goes on, few things speak as loudly as the facts.

That's why I always encourage folks to ensure they can get those facts and to seek out the necessary tools and strategies to utilize those facts to the fullest extent. As complex as these crashes can be, victims and families can get the help they need. They just need to take the steps to anticipate and overcome the barrier that will no doubt stand in their way.
