Commentary on Single-Vehicle Accident on Dairy Road in Hereford
While mentions of alcohol always raise red flags, it's important to understand that police often bring it up simply because it's common. This crash may not involve alcohol at all. It could be something as simple as speeding or texting and driving, and it could even be something as complex as a mechanical defect or road hazards. That's one of the reasons thorough independent investigations are often crucial after crashes like this.

In fact, even if alcohol did cause the crash, those investigations could prove necessary. Many alcohol related crashes involve people that were over-served by a local bar or some other similar establishment. Those venues can be liable for resulting crashes under dram shop law, which is not the sort of thing preliminary crash reports tend to handle.
In other words, whatever caused this wreck, jumping to conclusions based on these reports would be irresponsible. Letting more thorough investigations get the facts would be the more prudent way to ensure folks get whatever help they can.
