Commentary on Motorcycle Accident on Broadway in Rockport
I recall there was another fatal crash in Rockport almost exactly 24 hours prior to and less than a mile away from this particular crash (that crash resulting in the death of Hayden Watkins). That crash, too, involved speculation that alcohol was involved. While the circumstances were no doubt different, it's incredibly common to see that sort of speculation after any serious late-night wreck.

Put simply, alcohol is incredibly common in serious crashes like these, and it would be irresponsible not to consider it as a possible factor. That's especially true when there could be a local alcohol provider that illegally over-served the victim and can be liable for their role in the crash. But that's still just one possibility.
Instead of jumping to conclusions, a deadly crash needs thorough investigations to look into all kinds of possible factors, whether it's a medical emergency, a mechanical defect, road hazards, fatigue, or even some other driver that left the scene. As quick as people may be to blame a motorcyclist for a crash like this, perhaps it's best to wait for the facts to come to light and to focus on what can be done for the grieving family in the meantime.
