Commentary on Multi-Vehicle Accident on I-45 in Montgomery County

There's no telling exactly what happened here yet, but accidents involving commercial trucks tend to get messy pretty quickly. Hopefully investigators will identify a clear chain of events and a specific cause for the pileup, which would cut down a great deal on any confusion or disagreement between the people involved. Their own versions of events may not match up too closely, which means it's important that investigators dig deeper and look for the objective facts.

Maybe the nearby traffic camera will have some useful footage, or a forensic analysis of the scene could turn up helpful information. Whatever needs doing, I hope police will take those steps instead of just taking a few notes and then writing "who knows" in the margins of their report. Anyone injured in a crash like this deserves to know that was taken seriously and investigated with care. Any steps beyond finding answers would depend largely on what those answers are.
