Commentary on Hunter Hill Truck Accident in Dallas
There are a few common reasons a truck driver might change lanes into someone. This could certainly be some highly unusual situation the truck driver had no control over, though the most likely explanation is just that the driver wasn't paying attention. Seeing this as likely and proving it, however, are two entirely different things. Folks should always ensure they have the tools to get to that proof when needed.

For example, folks came to me with a crash a while back where a reckless trucker hit their vehicle. It was pretty darn clear the driver had been on his phone, but the company actually claimed he didn't even own one. That did not sound likely, but it was our burden to bring the truth to light.
By putting together a lengthy deposition, our teams was able to trip the truck driver over his own stories, causing him to admit he did indeed own a phone (what a surprise). With that, we got a court order for the records, and they clearly showed that the driver had been too busy watching pornography to watch the road. It wasn't long after that came to light that the trucking company finally took steps to cooperate.
Now, I can't say anything so ridiculous happened here, but roadblocks like that are far more the norm than not. That's why victims and families need to ensure they have the means to bring all the facts to light, whether that's professional investigators, legal allies, unique tools and strategies, etc. Doing so here could be the difference between a trucking company dodging a bullet and a victim getting the help they deserve.
