Commentary on Mikayla D Ann Carroll Truck Accident in Washington County

It's not entirely clear why this crash happened, but when someone turns in front of another driver on a straight, open highway, it's usually a sign they simply weren't paying enough attention. Now, there could be extenuating circumstances to consider, of course.

For example, it was likely not entirely light out yet at the time of the crash. If something unusual occurred, like the victim not having their headlights on, then a driver not seeing them wouldn't be too unreasonable. But cell phone records, surveillance footage, debris reconstruction, witness testimony, and other details could very well show that a reasonably prudent truck driver would have seen the victim and waited until it was safe to turn. Are the proper steps being taken here to find out why this situation ended differently?
