Commentary on Fatal Truck Accident on Dinah Shore in Rancho Mirage

Rancho Mirage, CA Truck Accident Kills 2, Injures 3 on Dinah Shore Drive

It's not entirely unusual for there to be so few details surrounding a complex commercial truck wreck. The issue is making sure the right people are handling the investigations. Authorities can certainly fill that role, but they often lack the experience and tools to properly investigate the crash. I can't count how many times families came to me with a truck wreck where authorities weren't able to look into complex factors like maintenance records, ECM data, laser mapping, mechanical defects, etc. Considering a child lost their life here, shouldn't every possible step be taken to ensure professionals look into what happened here?
