Commentary on David Donaldson Jr., Randy Shipmon Truck Accident in Wayne County
It's not entirely clear what happened here, and I would discourage folks from just assuming the driver did something wrong when so many things can cause a truck to lose control without the truck driver being able to avoid it. In the meantime, though, there is some positive sign that reports say the injuries were only minor. I certainly hope that's true, but it's important to take these wrecks seriously no matter what.

A while back, for example, a man came to me about a commercial vehicle wreck that gave him a "minor" injury. Days after doctors gave him the all-clear, though, he could barely move due to the pain in his back. It turned out that the collision ruptured a disk in his spine, and he needed surgery and months of rehab. That's not exactly "minor," which is why it's good he at least sought professional help to get him the assistance he needed. Hopefully nothing so serious happens here, but it's why I would take even wrecks like this one seriously to ensure nothing important slips through the cracks.
