Rev. Carl Williamson Injured in Auto Accident on TX-321 near Cleveland

Cleveland, TX — June 1, 2022, Reverend Carl Williamson was injured in a serious traffic accident on State Highway 321 in the Cleveland area.

According to reports the incident happened around 3:15 p.m. on Highway 321 near Rural Shade Road. Preliminary investigation suggests Williamson was headed north on the highway when he tried to pass an 18-wheeler ahead. He drove into the oncoming lane to pass and approached southbound traffic.

Reports say Williamson tried to swerve and avoid a head-on collision but instead hit the back of another northbound vehicle ahead of the 18-wheeler. The impact caused his own vehicle to overturn and roll several times before it stopped upright in a roadside ditch.

Williamson received serious injuries in the crash and was transported to an area hospital. Investigators say he may have suffered some kind of medical emergency just before the wreck. No other injuries were reported.
