Commentary on Jose Rodriguez Truck Accident in West Athens

When details about a serious truck wreck like this are unclear, it's crucial to ensure that the investigators in charge actually have the experience and tools to handle things. I don't mean to insult authorities, as many of them are very skilled and dedicated. The problem is their departments aren't always so prudent.

Departments don't often give officers the tools, time, or training they need for complex commercial truck wrecks. Since even unlikely possible factors like mechanical defects, poor maintenance, lack of training, or road issues can contribute to a deadly wreck, lacking the means to investigate those possibilities means important details can slip through the cracks.

That's one of the many reasons I rely on independent investigations when folks come to me for answers. Making sure as much evidence as possible comes to light is crucial for victims and families. I see no reason why this crash would be an exception to that.
