Commentary on Helicopter Crash at Cameron Airport
There isn't much information about how exactly this accident occurred, and I'm not coming down on police for not having all the answers so soon. I hope in the course of the investigation they can answer some outstanding questions. Did the chopper go down because of a pilot error? Was there an equipment or mechanical issue in the machine itself? Was there some kind of communication issue with the airport's controllers? That's just a handful of the many concerns that still have to be addressed.

Some may feel it's not really that important to get to the heart of the matter since the victims' injuries were reportedly minor. I certainly hope that's true, but I've seen some cases where early reports didn't have the full scoop and the victims' damages were worse than they seemed. There's no specific reason to think that'll happen in Cameron, but it's a point of concern and another reason to diligently investigate what happened. Being prepared with the facts of the matter could later be instrumental in getting the victims the help they need and deserve.
