Commentary on Truck Accident on NE 14th Street in Ocala

Right now there isn't that much information on exactly what happened here. It's one thing to say the tanker truck overturned onto to the car, but why? Did the truck driver lose control somehow? If so, what caused that? Did the truck hit an unstable patch of road and lose traction? Was either driver speeding or distracted? Were any other non-contact vehicles involved that might have left the scene?

That's just a handful of the many lingering questions that must still be answered. It's important not to look at early reports and start pointing fingers considering how few facts they really contain. The people affected deserve to know the whole truth, and more than that plenty of clear evidence might be necessary to make sure the right parties are held accountable. Will the authorities be careful enough with their investigation to get the whole story?
