One Injured in Motorcycle Accident on I-45 at Loop 336 in Montgomery County, TX

Montgomery County, TX -- May 26, 2022, one person was injured due to an accident where a motorcycle crashed along Interstate 45.

Authorities said that the crash took place at around 6:45 p.m. near Loop 336 and Crighton. The exact cause of the crash is unclear at this time. Police say a motorcyclist was speeding and weaving through traffic on the freeway when a crash occurred, ejecting the rider.

The motorcyclist went to a hospital reportedly in stable condition. Further investigations are needed to confirm the cause of the crash.

Reports like this no doubt reaffirm the preconception a lot of folks have that motorcyclists are all reckless daredevils who cause accidents. Maybe that did happen here. I certainly have no specific reason to doubt the reports. But it's a common result of negative bias that people blame motorcyclists only for evidence to show that blame was misplaced. I've even had cases where witnesses reportedly saw a motorcyclist being reckless, but evidence would show those witnesses completely misremembered the facts and got the story wrong. If nothing else, thorough investigations help to give people some benefit of the doubt until the evidence can speak for itself. Are those steps being taken here?
