Woman Injured in Truck Accident on Katy Freeway in Harris County, TX

Harris County, TX -- February 11, 2022, one person was injured due to an accident where a commercial truck crashed into a car along Katy Freeway.

Authorities reported that the crash took place at around 8:00 a.m. along the Katy Freeway service road at Grand Parkway North.

Officials said that a 28-year-old woman was in a Jeep Cherokee traveling westbound along the service road. While at a red light, a semi-truck crashed into the back of the woman's car.

Reports said that the woman had non-incapacitating injuries due to the crash. The truck driver was allegedly under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. Additional details are unavailable at this time.

This is about as serious a mistake as a driver can make. The fact it was someone possibly in a commercial vehicle only makes things more concerning. This may have been a rental truck or just an individual who isn't responsible to anyone else. Sometimes, however, crashes like this happen when a reckless driver is intoxicated while on the job. Is there a local business allowing someone with substance abuse issues to operate their vehicles? Did they know this was happening? Did they ignore obvious red flags? Did they not do background checks or drug testing? There are simply too many concerning possible factors surrounding this crash. If there was any kind of crash warranting every possible step to know the full story, it would be this kind. Were those steps ever taken?
