Commentary on Rear-End 18-wheeler Accident on I-20 in Monahans
Folks tend to see a rear-end collision and simply assume the rear driver must have done something wrong. That's usually true, considering things like speeding, following too closely, and distracted driving. However, it would be irresponsible to simply jump to that conclusion without conducting more thorough investigations.
For example, if an 18-wheeler suddenly pulled off the shoulder going recklessly below the speed limit, is that really okay just because someone hit the back of the truck? Of course not. The law is nuanced enough to consider the factors that led to the crash, which is why thorough investigations are so important in these situations. Are steps being taken to get clear answers about what happened here?
