Folks tend to take for granted that authorities look into these crashes, get the facts, and that's that. Maybe that's true here, but I can't begin to count how many times folks came to me after a serious crash only to remain empty handed waiting around for the authorities. Unfortunately, not every department prioritizes accident reconstruction, so details can easily slip through the cracks. Whether it's mechanical issues, cell phone usage, a dram shop case against a bar that over-served someone, a medical emergency, etc., getting answers means being thorough, even when a factor seems unlikely. Taking those steps is crucial for those in need of help, and I doubt this crash will be an exception to that.
