With a situation like this, it's important folks understand exactly how complex a crash can really be. Even if someone did go through a red light, investigations into why that happened have to be thorough. Maybe it's something as simple as someone looking at their phone, and phone records could verify this. It's also possible, however, that something highly unusual happened. Maybe there was a sudden medical emergency. Maybe someone's brakes failed. Maybe the signs or signals at this crossing are faulty. Maybe someone was hit by another reckless driver. Even if something seems unlikely, someone lost their life here. Shouldn't every possible step be taken to ensure the victims and families involved know they're getting the full story?
