Commentary on Justin Burns Motorcycle Accident on Katies Woods in Grapevine
I don't have any specific reason to doubt these reports, just to be clear up front. But something to consider is a common bias I encounter frequently when I look into similar accidents. Unfortunately, a lot of people are quick to blame motorcyclists before actually knowing the facts because they just assume that all motorcyclists are reckless drivers.
Authorities are not immune from this same mindset. That's just another reason I tend to rely on independent investigations. From mechanical issues to speeding to poor road conditions to restaurants illegally over-serving alcohol to drivers, independent investigators have the experience and tools to look into all kinds of possible factors. It's important to let them tell they story rather than sit around waiting for a police report that may barely scratch the surface.
