Commentary on Danette Marie Robinson ATV Accident in Bosque County

In crashes like this, it's all too easy for people to start jumping to conclusions. Was alcohol involved? Were they speeding? Were they on their phone? These are important questions, of course, and they can even bring up important possible legal avenues.

Alcohol, for example, can lead to a local business liable under dram shop law if they over-served the driver. But jumping to conclusions isn't going to help anyone. There could be unusual factors surrounding this crash, such as mechanical issues, road hazards, defective tires, lack of signage or lighting, etc. One way or another, letting the evidence speak for itself is almost always the path to getting people the help they deserve. That often requires more than just a standard crash report, which is why I would caution anyone against drawing conclusions before there have been more thorough investigations here.
