William Wantuck, Harley Laughlin Killed in Accident on TX-87 near Bridge City

Bridge City, TX -- May 19, 2022, 46-year-old William Wantuck and 32-year-old Harley Laughlin were killed in a traffic accident on State Highway 87 near Bridge City.

Authorities say the incident happened around 6:30 a.m. on TX-87 at Gaylynn Drive. Preliminary investigation suggests Wantuck was riding a motorcycle north on the highway when Laughlin pulled an SUV into his path from Gaylynn. The two collided in the travel lanes of TX-87.

Wantuck was pronounced dead at the scene. Laughlin and a child passenger from the SUV were taken to an area hospital where Laughlin later died. The child was treated and released. A second young passenger in the SUV was unhurt.

The investigation is ongoing. No further information is currently available.
