Commentary on Jessica Moman, Uriel Zapot Martinez Car Accident in Grand Prairie

It's concerning anytime authorities bring up alcohol, though it's important to be thorough and consider all of the possible factors surrounding the crash. For one, police may have missed the mark and there are actually other factors besides alcohol to consider. Alternatively, even if alcohol played a role in the crash, investigations could show that there's a local bar that contributed to the events, as well.

This has to do with dram shop law, which says that an alcohol provider who over-serves an obviously intoxicated person can be liable for damages resulting from that intoxication. Bars and other venues that over-serve people put lives at risk, so it's only just they answer for their actions just as drunk drivers answer for theirs. If there's some local establishment that is contributing to serious accidents, having them take responsibility for the resulting injuries could prove effective in getting them to clean up their act.

So while I can't say what did or didn't happen here, there are too many concerning possibilities to ignore. Hopefully steps are taken to ensure experienced professionals look into things and get some clear answers.
