It's not unusual for there to be so few details surrounding a serious commercial truck wreck. The question is if the details are in the hands of experienced professionals. Authorities can certainly do a perfectly thorough job, but they also can make serious mistakes and allow important details to slip through the cracks. That's how one gets situations like one I handled not long ago where an experienced officer left in charge of a serious 18-wheeler accident let a trucking company take evidence from the scene before it could be independently verified. We were able to salvage that investigation, but one mistake nearly tanked the entire investigation. That's why taking steps as soon as possible to ensure victims and families get the full story is crucial.
