Police brought up several concerning factors, but sometimes reports like this are little more than speculation. If authorities just assume the driver did something wrong, they might overlook other crucial possibilities. Now, it is important to look into those common factors. Alcohol can be especially complex given the possible involvement of a negligent alcohol provider liable for their role in the crash under dram shop law. But things like mechanical issues, product defects, road hazards, medical conditions, and even drivers who left the scene can all be involved without making it into the initial reports. If more thorough investigations show that something unusual happened here, those facts need to be clear so the proper steps can be taken to address those factors and get the victim the help they deserve. It remains to be seen if that prudence was exercised at all here.
