Commentary on Melisa Mapa Police Chase Accident in Fort Worth
It's just devastating to see allegations like this. A woman simply going about her business doesn't get to go home because of something so avoidable and selfish. Finding out exactly what all led to the crash is crucial, since there could be unique consequences to consider. For example, some drivers flee authorities due to drunk driving. That could mean that there's a dram shop claim if a local business illegally over-served that driver. Alternatively, that driver may have had warrants, been in possession of illegal substances, been in a stolen vehicle, etc. It's not just about putting someone in cuffs. It's about making sure a family has every opportunity to get the answers and the help they deserve. Are those steps being taken here?
