One Injured in Crash with Street Racers on I-14 in Killeen, TX

Killeen, TX -- May 10, 2022, a 57-year-old man suffered serious injuries after being hit by a possible street-racing vehicle on Interstate 14 in Killeen.

Authorities say the incident happened Tuesday on I-14 near the Clear Creek overpass. Preliminary investigation suggests a 21-year-old was driving a Mercedes-Benz vehicle west on the highway, racing a nearby Audi sedan. According to reports the two racing cars collided with each other, after which the Mercedes crashed into a nearby Ford Taurus. After the collision the Audi driver fled the scene without stopping.

The Ford driver suffered serious injuries in the collision. No other injuries were reported.

The investigation continues as police look for the runaway Audi, said to have front-right damage, and its driver.
