Commentary on Yvonne Nyirangenerwa Truck Accident in Dallas

Something I frequently discuss on this blog is the importance of taking details with a grain of salt until all the facts are clear. These preliminary crash reports can be very helpful, but they often leave out crucial details. They can even have serious mistakes that require more thorough investigations to correct.

Yvonne Nyirangenerwa Truck Accident in Dallas, TX

Folks would be surprised to see how many times people came to me with reports where police put them entirely at fault only for independent investigations to show the victim had no control over the situation. Maybe another driver caused the collision, maybe there were mechanical issues authorities didn't have the tools to examine, maybe the roadway had hazards that went overlooked, etc.

The point here isn't to shift blame one way or another. The point is to avoid blame altogether until all of the evidence is clear. Experience taught me a long time ago that these reports rarely tell the whole story, and getting that story is crucial for getting people the help they deserve.
