Harris County, TX -- December 24, 2021, one person sustained injuries due to an accident where two vehicles crashed along Beechnut Street.

Investigators reported that the crash took place at around 4:20 p.m. along Beechnut Street at Vista Del Rancho Drive. In their reports, authorities said that a 56-year-old man was in a car traveling westbound on Beechnut. At Vista Del Rancho, he reportedly turned left, then was hit by an eastbound pickup.

If it's true that alcohol contributed to this in some way, it's important to find out if an alcohol provider played a role in all of this. To put it simply, dram shop law says that an alcohol provider who over-serves an obviously intoxicated person can be liable for damages resulting from that intoxication. Whether that's a bar, liquor store, or restaurant, holding them accountable can be a vital source of assistance as well as a way to make the community safer for everyone. That's why it's concerning when I see reports like this that make no mention on if authorities even bothered investigating things like dram shop. Perhaps more thorough investigations would reveal more details.
