Commentary on Kristalyn Kathleen Moore Wrong-Way Accident in North Richland Hills

I say that the cause of the crash here is unconfirmed because I don't draw conclusions based on sparse preliminary crash reports. I only rely on clear evidence I can see for myself. However, I have little doubt that authorities looked into alcohol as a possibility here. Quite frankly, it's the most common factor in any wrong-way collision on a limited-access highway. If that happened here, finding out if a local establishment served a 19-year-old would be crucial.

Not only could they be in serious trouble for giving alcohol to a teen, they could even be liable for a crash if they illegally over-served the driver. Is that something authorities looked into here? Furthermore, did they also consider other possibilities, regardless of how unlikely they may be? While less common, things like medical conditions, poor lighting, a lack of signage, and other issues can cause wrong-way collisions. Likely or not, the goal should be to make sure nothing important slips through the cracks. These reports alone certainly don't inspire confidence that this is the whole story.
