My concern with situations like this is whether or not authorities are really giving it the attention it deserves. When it comes to motorcyclists there is a lot of negative bias that stands between families and the answers they deserve. Not long ago, for example, I looked into a crash for a family that lost a loved one in a similar accident. While police put the victim 100% at fault for being reckless, further witness statements and examination of the evidence from independent accident reconstructionists revealed that the police officer was entirely wrong. Had we not looked into things more thoroughly, that family may never have learned the truth. Would similar efforts yield similar results here?
