Commentary on Truck Hit-and-run Accident on East Central in Albuquerque

These are obviously some serious allegations, though I want to be clear that it's not my place to say if those allegations are accurate. That's for the courts to figure out. In the meantime, there is a man's family in need of some answers, and steps should be taken to ensure they're getting the full story.

Part of the story that I have concerns with is the fact the incident apparently involved a commercial truck. While there are many independent truckers out there, did this incident involve someone working for a company? Is there a company out there allowing intoxicated truck drivers to work for them, operating multi-ton vehicles and putting countless others at risk? There are companies out there who will simply allow anyone with a pulse to drive for them, and there are others simply so inept they don't bother to make sure their workers are being safe.

Maybe nothing like that happened here, but as I said, there is a family in need of answers and whatever help they can get. Steps should be taken to ensure they get those answers, especially if they could help prevent others from getting hurt.
