Commentary on FedEx Truck Accident on Three Notch Road in Mechanicsville

It's not entirely clear what happened here, but children being seriously injured obviously warrants every effort to get them the help they need. For that reason alone, more thorough independent investigations would be crucial. Commercial vehicle wrecks can be incredibly complex. The fact there is almost always a company on the other side doing everything in their power to avoid responsibility is only going to make things more challenging.

With a company as large as FedEx, if nothing else, there will be teams of professionals working on their side of the story, whatever that may be. Shouldn't victims and families also have professionals to tell their side of the story? That's why independent investigations are usually more prudent than simply waiting for the police. Police can sometimes be experienced and well-equipped, but I can't begin to count how many times across the hundreds of commercial vehicle wreck cases I've handled that police either got something wrong or missed something important.

With independent investigations, experienced professionals can take the steps necessary to ensure nothing important slips through the cracks. Are the victims and families involved here getting the professional allies they need to ensure the full story comes to light?
