Commentary on Semi-truck Accident on I-71 in Pendleton

To be a bit blunt, while I can't say what did or didn't happen here, a semi-truck crashing into two vehicles in slowing traffic is usually a sign that driver was being reckless. This sort of thing is usually the result of speeding, following too closely, and distracted driving. There could certainly be extenuating circumstances here that the second truck driver couldn't possibly avoid. But even something common led to this crash, it's important for the victims in need of help to know all the facts.

Pendleton, KY Semi-Truck Accident I-71

For example, I had a case not long ago involving a truck driver that crashed into traffic after driving for over 20 hours straight. When we looked into why he did something so reckless, it came to light that his employer would routinely coerce drivers to meet unreasonable deadlines. If they didn't cut corners to meet these expectations, they risked losing their jobs. With all of those truck drivers forced to choose between being safe drivers and putting food on their family's table, it's just a matter of time before someone gets hurt, right?

I'm not saying anything like that happened here, but these are the situations authorities don't usually consider. It's easy enough to throw blame around, but actually getting clear answers helps to ensure folks get all the help they deserve. Whatever happened here, are steps being taken to make sure nothing important slips through the cracks?
